Features & Benefits

Easy to install and requires no maintenance

Robust heating cable, with premium high temperature insulating materials

Slab Heat Cable is designed to provide efficient and reliable warmth for concrete slab floors, ensuring consistent comfort throughout your home or business. Featuring high-temperature insulation materials, this heating cable is built to withstand the demands of in-slab installation, offering long-lasting durability and safety.

One of the key benefits of Slab Heat Cable is its compatibility with time of uses or off-peak tariff meters. By utilising off-peak electricity rates, you can store heat during lower-cost periods and release it throughout the day when needed, optimizing your energy consumption and reducing heating costs. This makes it an ideal solution for those looking to save on energy bills while still enjoying consistent floor warmth.

Perfect for new builds and renovations, our in-slab heating system is an efficient, eco-friendly way to keep your home or business warm without compromising on comfort or cost. Other heating applications include include ice & snow melting on patios, pavements and driveways.

To enhance performance and lower running costs, we recommend insulation (minimium R1.0) is installed to the underside and perimeter of the heated slab.

Product Details

The Slab Heat Cable kit includes:

  • In Slab cable heater
  • Cable alarm monitor with batteries (for testing & monitoring for breaks)
  • Installation guide
  • Note: Thermostats are sold separately

Slab Heat Cable's heating cable is a series-type, twin conductor heating cable with a 2.5m cold lead on one side for power connection.

The heating conductor is enclosed in an initial high temperature insulation layer, which is itself wrapped in a protective metal shielding, before being encased in a final Polyolefin outer sheath. The final diameter of the heating cable is 5mm.

The cold lead junctions are prefabricated and rigorously tested in a controlled factory environment to ensure reliability.

FAQ

What is electric in-slab underfloor heating?
Electric in-slab underfloor heating involves the installation of heating cables embedded within a concrete slab. These cables heat the slab, which in turn radiates warmth into the room. It’s an energy-efficient and discreet heating solution that offers consistent, even warmth.

How does electric in-slab underfloor heating work?
The system works by laying electric heating cables within the concrete slab, where they heat up when powered on. The heat is absorbed by the slab, and as it warms up, it radiates heat throughout the room. The even distribution of warmth eliminates cold spots and provides a comfortable living environment.

Can electric in-slab heating be used with any floor covering?
Electric in-slab heating is designed to work seamlessly with concrete floors, and the warmth can radiate through most types of flooring, including tiles, stone, and even timber. However, it’s important to consult with a professional before choosing your flooring to ensure compatibility.

What are the benefits of using off-peak electricity with in-slab heating?
Using off-peak electricity allows you to store heat during times when electricity rates are lower, typically during the night. This makes it a cost-effective option, as you can heat your slab during these cheaper periods and release the warmth throughout the day, helping you save on energy costs.
